Areas We Serve - St Petersburg
History
St. Petersburg, FL was founded in the late 1800s and officially incorporated in 1903. The city’s name came from a friendly coin toss between John C. Williams and Peter Demens. Demens won and named the city after his hometown of St. Petersburg, Russia, while Williams named the first hotel. One major milestone was the arrival of the Orange Belt Railway, which helped connect the area and support early growth. Another was the launch of the world’s first scheduled commercial airline flight in 1914 between St. Petersburg and Tampa. According to the City of St. Petersburg official website, the city has since grown into a cultural and economic hub along Florida’s Gulf Coast in FL.
